Become a Student Research Assistant (HDP 199)

We have research assistant opportunities available through the Human Development Program's HDP 199 Independent Study Course. HDP 199 offers 2 or 4 units of "Pass" credit for working on a research project in the DNI Lab. Note that 2 units of HDP 199 represents 6 total hours of commitment per week to lab duties, and 4 units represents 12 total hours of commitment per week. To enroll you must fill out a special studies application.

Requirements

  • Sophomore or higher standing, preferably with a Cognitive Science, Human Development, or Psychology major (declared or pre-major)
  • GPA of 3.0 or better
  • At least one course (preferably upper-division) relating to human development and/or human cognition
  • Experience interacting with children
  • Excellent work ethic, dedication, and desire to contribute to science
  • Two quarter minimum commitment
  • Must attend weekly lab meetings and complete a final paper at end of quarter

  • Class schedule

You will be contacted for an interview. Please note that participation as a student researcher is by invitation following the interview.
